Bringing Ritual Into Meditation

We’ve had some podcast woes recently, with numerous potential guests not responding to mails and dropping off in pre-flight communication. After making a couple short narrative films in our living in Los Angeles years, one thing we learned is how much of a pain in the dick casting actors is. As you can put in days or even weeks of work in initial communication without making any progress to lock in the right individual for a role. So that was one of numerous reasons we moved more into documentary work - to not have to cast.

We find cold contacting and scheduling potential podcasts guests to be a very similar dynamic. So we’ve taken the last month of road blocks trying to make the next podcast as more lessons from the universe to not even try to cold schedule guests, especially of course high profile / pretentious ones. We instead have found the best conversations come about naturally. However, that means in no way are they on a specific set schedule, even a monthly one. After chatting privately with Greg Kaminsky from Occult of Personality recently, who also seems to be on a very slow recent schedule with his show, he was saying what we’ve always personally felt “I don’t know how podcasters do weekly shows, as I get tired of them as a listener, and can’t imagine how much work that is for the host.” Hahahaha!!!

However, the next podcast looks to be locked in just a few days from the time of this post, and it’s planned as the beginning of a future wave of initially recording some episodes with video. So this story is here to mention that there’s no podcast for this month, but instead we have completed something even more timeless and what we think is far superior - our second long form essay!

Bringing Ritual Into Meditation” could not only be said to be our second longer form stand alone audio only product, “The first one being our film deconstruction of the Ninth GateTraveling Through the Ninth Gate” but also we suppose our first mini short form audio course. We also consider these similar to feature length documentary films, just with no visuals associated.

This second one focuses on just what the title suggests, a technique for bringing some form of ritual and affirmation into a meditation. Comprised of four major steps, each one was by no means invented exclusively by us from scratch but stitching them together in one meditation is of our own design.

It’s a 23 page writing and hour long narration which took us the better part of a week to write and another full day to record and package up, so like Traveling Through the Ninth Gate, we’re going to be selling this one as a stand alone product for $5 USD. However we of course give it to you fine folks freely with our many thanks for your patronage.
